That was a false alarm for me on the Kuusamo 15k. I woke up in the morning with some serious lung burn from the sprint the day before so I had to call it. But Freeman killed it! Hell yeah! That was rad. Even though it was on the cold side, like -16c, it was perfect classic skiing with hard tracks and really fair waxing. Freeman skied a smart race and eased into his first 5k and then kept stepping it up for the next 10. It was pretty cool to watch the splits pop up on the TV and to see Bird ahead of all the top dogs.We spent Sunday night in Kuusamo and left yesterday for Davos Switzerland. It was snowing pretty badly in Helsinki so our flights here delayed but we ended up rolling into the Hotel Kulm at just around 11 at night. We woke up this morning to some dumping snow. There is already a lot of coverage here in Davos so with this snow there will be some massive pow pow to stride through. Even though we had a travel days yesterday i am taking today off from training too. I must have toasted my lungs pretty bad in the kuusamo sprint because I’ve still got a good hack going. It’s really hard to make yourself take a day off when your body feels ok and it’s just in your chest, but sometimes those can be the most serious. It’s too early in the season to push it and get set back with some kind of respiratory infection or something. I got a few clips from the race so I’ll see if I can figure out how to do a video post. Later.

Video posted.

Its great to see a video of Kris’ comments since as we all know there is virtually no media coverage here in the states- much less any television interviews. Keep it up Andy- Thanks!!

I agree, thanks for posting the video interview. I am in Austria so I saw you take 4th last weekend on Eurosport. Awesome! It is crazy how much attention skiing gets over here. XC and alpine coverage dominate the weekends. I love it!

Question: Are you guys (US ski team) planning on doing the relay this weekend or any relays this year? I think that would be absolutely killer. Relays and Sprints get the most attention by far.

Awesome race last weekend!! And keep up the good work!!
