Well I’m back home after an exciting week of racing at the US short Distance Nationals. Houghton is a pretty sweet place but damn it’s hard to get up there. It took three different little planes to get me from Houghton to Albany today. Oh well… it was worth it because the US Nationals week was a good time.

Girls Sprint relay Podium

Gus and the NMU Team
Like I said before i was really impressed with the level of racing at this years nationals. It looks like we have a lot of young fast juniors coming up through the ranks. I was stoked to see Sophie and Parker from SMS finish in the top five in the open class of the sprint relay. Our US Ski Team girls like Liz and Mo are looking fast right now too so I’m pretty fired up to see how all the U23 and World Junior Teams can do this year in Poland.

Luke and Pete. these guys work HARD. Long days.. the definition of All in.

Zim… Skiing Fast right now
My plan for the next week or so is to train at home in Vermont and prepare for the Canadian World Cups. I was able to get in some good training before Nationals so for this next week intensity and quickness will be the focus. Hopefully the skiing will hold up… I just heard the forecast and it said is was supposed to be around 60 here tomorrow! what?! thats insane. time to bust out some klister.
