I traveled home yesterday from Dusseldorf to Munich to DC to Albany. It was a pretty easy travel day but there was a lot of action in the airports with canceled flights and the crazy christmas travel rush. I also ran into a ton of people in the airports including biathlete Lowel Baily running to catch the same 30 seater plane home to Albany. I made it home at a decent hour, but without my two ski bags which were apparently still sitting in Munich. Which would be fine except I’m planning on heading out to Park City for christmas tomorrow morning.

With my one day at home between now and April I had a lot of stuff to take care of today. thanks to jet lag I was wide awake at 6 this morning and was able to get an early start…. even headed out for a sweet classic ski at Prospect. The snow is awesome here in VT. and the skiing this morning was some of the best I’ve ever had here at home. Prospect got a new groomer this year and the tracks were wicked. bomber, hard, extra blue skiing with cold temps and clear skies. It sucks to only have one day in the east to enjoy that kind of skiing but the training in Park City should be pretty decent over the next few weeks too. I’m skipping out on nationals in AK in order to get in about two weeks of training before we head up to Canada for the next world cups. It’s a tough call and I’m not too stoked to miss out on some good distance starts at nationals, but this is one of the only times during the season that a world cup skier can get in some training and hopefully this will help me peak and feel my best when world champs roll around. the view from my house on a cold December morning

been following your world cup results and it looks like you’ve had some bad luck with falls and tangles with other skiers – must mean your luck will change and your world cup results will rock!!! looking forward to more great results andy.
