With the 4th of July coming on a Wednesday this week it totally felt like one of the longest weekends ever! As a skiers the weekend doesn’t mean a whole lot since every day is basically a vacation for us.. but for a lot of my working man buddies this was a serious Freedom week and they put in a strong push to party every single day and take advantage of the epic VT scene.

For the SMS crew this was a pretty busy week of training hammering through some big group workouts in some hot ass weather. But we made it through doing a lot of swimming and hanging out by the Stratton snow making pond. I think a lot of the ‘out of staters’ were surprised at how seriously people take the 4th of july in Southern VT. Every single night there is something planning or something being blown up. Stratton Mountain even had to put their wireworks show on June 30th there was so much other stuff going on, but everyone agreed the the Magic Mountain show in Londonderry on the 7th was best as always. With lots of BBQ’s, bluegrass bands, parades, bars, and everything else to fit into one freedom week the Foster/willie party bus came in handy and hauled the crew around most of the week hitting up all the swimming spots along the way.
