On the closing day of 2010, Prospect Mountain in Woodford, Vt. hosted the Berkshire County League opener to usher in the 2011 ski season. Racing did not disappoint on any level, as a long course for older skiers challenged both the boys’ and girls’ field, while the younger skiers sped through the short course. Blue skies and recent heavy snowfall guaranteed enjoyable conditions for skiers and spectators alike, and the festive opening day was successfully organized by host-schools Wahconah and Hoosac.
