FAIRBANKS, Alaska – The Alaska Nanooks had eleven skiers, including six men and five women, named to the United States Collegiate Skiing Coaches Association’s All-Academic Team announced Monday.
To be eligible, student-athletes must have competed in the regional championships and have a fall semester/quarter grade-point average of 3.50 or higher (on a 4.00 scale). The list includes 266 student-athletes from 25 schools.
For the men, all six of the Nanooks’ NCAA Regional participants made the cut - Alex Morris, David Norris, John Parry, Ray Sabo, Erik Soderstrom and Lex Treinen. The women’s honorees are Heather Edic, Rebecca Konieczny, Marit Rjabov,Theresia Schnurr and Raphaela Sieber.
Norris, Trienen, Schnurr, Sieber will represent the Blue and Gold at the NCAA Skiing Championships in Stowe, Vermont, March 9-12, along with sophomore Tyler Kornfield.
