David Chamberlain online. FasterSkier was nice enough to give me an interview that was posted today, and the first response that I saw was my ‘old’ buddy Patrick Weaver making barbs about my age. I am old and make no excuses or apologies for still being a ski racer, except that I was a late bloomer. And I like ski racing.

I have been here in Yellowstone for almost three weeks now, and the skiing is good. When I got here we were running ankle deep in mud out on Deja View and within one night we were skiing on perfect trails with no bare spots. The snow happened just in time for the race organizers of the opening SuperTour to declare a race would happen. It was nothing short of amazing! The races were great, mostly perfect trails and nice weather. I felt good about how I raced, for the early season I can’t complain about my shape.

The real report from Yellowstone is this: the skiing here is about as good as it gets, and still no one has groomed Windy Ridge?

Right now the word about the upcoming races in Bozeman tells me that we will be racing this weekend. I have heard that the snowcover is anywhere from 3 inches to 2 feet, the courses are either closed due to thin cover or open and perfect skiing, the races will either be at Bohart or Lone Mountain Ranch. More from Bozeman…

Hi David. The skiing has been good here in coastal Maine ever since Monday’s dumping. It will be fun to read your blog. Good luck with the racing season.
