Nationals are over and I am in transit on my way home to northern Maine.
The weekend was a fun one, skate sprints on Saturday and a sprint relay on Sunday. It got a little warmer, which meant dusting off the klister skis for the sprint relay. The tracks were shiny and fast, which made for good racing. It ended up as a really long day, with delays in already a full schedule. I am really impressed with the level of our sprinters right now. The US has a couple of the best sprinters in the world and they had to work hard from start to finish to win. Good sign for the world cup in Canmore.
And speaking of, I have to recant my last post, I did end up making the distance world cup squad for Canada after a few people opted to focus on other races. I am psyched and will be training hard and smart over the next few weeks to get ready!
