Double Session

Monday, June 30th, 2008

Today is my weekly Monday double session. It’s always hard, but nothing too tough. The goal is not to overwork myself by training too much, but to train effectively with a goal in mind. So per week, I do one double session, one or two intensity sessions, two strength sessions, lots of core, and I try to get on roller skis three times a week. There are always some odd, unexpected things like the triathlon on Saturday, but they are fun and they are meant to increase my interest in racing, not to bog me down.

Today was one of those fun, supposedly informal group training days that turns into a mildly heated competition. We hadn’t really planned this triathlon out for that long. Hi everyone! This is my first FasterSkier post so I would like to start off by thanking the guys from FasterSkier for giving me an opportunity to share my training and thoughts with you. My name is Ian Nesbitt, I’m a junior skier from Western Mass, and I ski for Holderness School in New Hampshire. To tell the truth, I’m kind of nervous to be posting on such a well-known website with contemporary USST greats like Andy Newell and Kikkan Randall. I actually had a previous blog for about three weeks before Matt asked me if I wanted to move to FasterSkier.
