Team Uniforming and the “Water Pack Crook”…

Although this training camp has not been exciting for me in terms of training, the last two days have been quite exciting in other aspects! Yesterday L.L. Bean and Craft came to camp to hand out our amazing new uniforms and explain some of the features of the gear. I can’t describe how impressed I […]

Time off.

Life as a full time athlete can be challenging when you cannot train. Unfortunately my back pain did not resolve itself as quickly as I hoped, so I am now on my 10th consecutive off day (which is very hard to do as a cross country athlete). I am definitely antsy to get back out to […]

Fall in Full Swing!

Fall is in full swing in Vermont! From the brisk morning workouts through the foliage in tights and long sleeves, to the warm apple cider and apple strudel, I am enjoying fall more than ever. Thanks to my awesome roommate Lauren, who is embracing every fall thing there is, I have covered the majority of […]

Vermont Adventures and Fundraising Campaign Launched!

Even though my training week was a considered a recovery week, I was quite busy in all other aspects of life. Early this week I launched my RallyMe fundraising campaign for the season! Because I am a non-funded U.S. Ski Team athlete, I have to cover all of my training and racing expenses. Check out […]

Lake Placid Training Camp at the Olympic Training Center!

Training camp in Lake Placid this past week was amazing! We started off the week with a bang! In the morning everyone did skate intervals and I did bike intervals instead, and in the afternoon we did L4 double pole intervals. I had the pleasure of rooming with USST and SMS teammate Sophie Caldwell! I […]

Birthday and Off to Training Camp!

I had a pretty exciting week! I started off the week with A LOT of double pole. I have been really focusing on technique because becoming efficient and strong is important! I have learned a really cool double pole progression from my teammates, where you focus on one aspect of the double pole and exaggerate […]

Soreness. It is such a beautiful thing. It is such a terrible thing. It means your getting stronger. It can mean you are weak. There are two types of soreness. Good soreness is when you are slightly sore from stimulating your muscles in a way to make them stronger. Then there is bad soreness… where […]

Goodbyes…Now Off to Vermont!

I have finally arrived in Stratton, Vermont! I am feeling ready and confident to begin transitioning into normal training with new training partners who are very fast. But first, lets rewind to the past week. This was the only week I have spent at home this summer. It was bittersweet to see all of my […]
