I ran 1778 miles last year.
So far, since the beginning of winter, I have skied 54 1/4 hours. 35 of those hours were classic technique, 29 1/4 skating. I spent 22 1/2 of those 54 hours pulling Iris the the Chariot.
To date, I have trained 329 1/2 hours. That puts me 25 hours behind last year’s pace. It puts me 270 hours behind the pace of my 2002-2003 season.
Last year (May -April) I trained 495 hours
In the 2006 season I trained 698 hours
2005: 725
2004: 672
2003: 750
2002: 773
2001: 745
2000: 786
1999: 769
1998: 615
1997: 612
1996: 510
1995: unknown
My first log entry is from June 7, 2003, when I ran five miles. The first six months are just charts on paper, listing miles run. In January I started keeping track in a cheap day planner. From January 1994 on I have estimated weekly hours as well, but I haven’t totalled them that far back. In 1995 I had a formal running log. Every year since 1996 I have usedthe Complete Runner’s Day-by-Day Log and Calendar. I just started on my 13th one.
I have logged 26,930 miles since I started keeping track (which admittedly is slightly different from saying I have actually run exactly that many).
I ran 1778 miles last year. The most miles I have ever run in a year was in 2512 in 1999. The least was 865 in 2004 (incidentally, Pete Vordenberg wrote several comments about the runners pictured in my 2004 log).
I rollerskied 20 hours in last year. I rollerskied 249 hours in the 2003 season.
