I had to drop my car off at the shop today, and I figured it would be a good idea to run home.
I’m not saying it wasn’t, but the run turned out to be more than twice as long as any I have done this year. I was hoping for something a little under two hours, but it turned out to be 2:25. I’m not sure how far it was - I tried to trace it with an online tool that told me a little under 16 miles but I am guessing a little more than that. The second half of the run was on wet trails, and I was getting pretty tired, so maybe that is right…
Anyway, my legs are still angry with me for putting them through that. But I needed to do that, as I am going down to Amherst next weekend to run the Seven Sisters Trail Run, a 12 miler whose selling point is that average speeds on the out and back course are well slower than speeds for people running up Mt Washington. Good luck to me!
Also, tomorrow marks the end of the training year. I will set another record this year - only 470 hours, 25 less than last year. 20 more hours on snow though, which was nice. Hopefully 2008-09 I can get back over 500 and also match the 140 hours on snow.
