So Saturday was a little embarrassing. I went up to Waterville to train. Before I got on skis, I did some waxing that I have been putting off. After I had six pairs of skis, including Sunday’s race skis, in great shape, I went back to the car to get ready to ski. I grabbed poles, freshly waxed training skis, put away my wax box, and looked through my bag for my boots. (more…)
In three or four years there is going to be a new J6 on the block. Watch out!!!
Or maybe she won’t like it. In which case her mother will say it is fine not to race (Hey, I’d like to say I would come to that conclusion on my own but I’m being realistic – and I will listen to my wife, which is always a good policy).
Well, there is no need for a report on the classic race, since there was none. Which is quite frustrating. I suppose since the mercury didn’t get above -4 then we aren’t supposed to race. But at our wax cabin it was -2 or -3, so it was warm enough to credibly claim it was legal to race. It might only have been that warm because of the warmth coming out of the door as people came in and out, but that is good enough for me! (more…)
So the way I see it, I should be selected to the World Championship team. A couple weeks ago, I was 30th in an Eastern Cup. Today, I was 30th at U.S. Nationals. At this rate of improvement I could be 30th in the world in a month and a half. (more…)
