So Saturday was a little embarrassing. I went up to Waterville to train. Before I got on skis, I did some waxing that I have been putting off. After I had six pairs of skis, including Sunday’s race skis, in great shape, I went back to the car to get ready to ski. I grabbed poles, freshly waxed training skis, put away my wax box, and looked through my bag for my boots.

Well, there is no need for a report on the classic race, since there was none. Which is quite frustrating. I suppose since the mercury didn’t get above -4 then we aren’t supposed to race. But at our wax cabin it was -2 or -3, so it was warm enough to credibly claim it was legal to race. It might only have been that warm because of the warmth coming out of the door as people came in and out, but that is good enough for me!
