I had the first three days of this week off to recover from the last training period and to spend some much needed time preparing for my final exams, papers and presentations.

I’m still trying to figure out the best way to complete the recovery portion of a week so that I don’t feel stiff and lethargic when I come out of it.  I’ve found that an easy jog or some light spinning is better than doing nothing even when you have a day off.  It’s a good way to flush lactic acid out of your legs and ensure that they don’t become stiff or sore from the previous week’s training.

I’ll be back in Jericho this weekend for the last time.  Next week my days will mostly be structured around my final projects and papers for school so the training plan is open (I just have to get the hours in).  On Thursday I head home for a day to unpack, do laundry and pull out my skis and winter training clothes for our training camp in Ostersund and Torsby, Sweden, for which I fly out on Saturday.  The camp actually starts this weekend but I’m going to arrive late because of school.  The plan is one week of training at the 2008 World Championships venue in Ostersund with testing at the lab there and IBU Cup races at the end of the week.  The second week will be spent training and testing skis in the ski tunnel in Torsby.
