Change of Plans

Friday, June 26th, 2009

The first week of summer camp went really well.  I got in some decent training hours throughout the week and then had an epic training day on Saturday which left me needing  a rest day on Sunday.  Week 2 was going to prove more challenging since my 2 1 hour breaks were in the afternoon and not back to back.  I was going to manage just fine though considering I was leading moutain biking in the morning.  I could also get to bed earlier because my kids were older and didn’t wake me up in the middle of the night.  It turns out that none of this even mattered, though.  We got a couple staff members here with H1N1 and on Tuesday we had to close camp and send the kids home.

Summer Training Plan

Thursday, June 11th, 2009

So, today is the last full day of summer staff training and I have my training plan for the next 9 weeks in place.  Training during the summer will be challenging, but I will have more time for it than I have had during staff training.  The past 10 days have started with optional prayer at 7:30, and ended with our small groups usually around 10.  We always had 1 hour off…immediately after lunch.  This has been a less than ideal situation, making it impossible to get do all my workouts and get enough sleep.
