We received a little more snow last night so we decided to beak out our rock skis for out first “real” on-snow training session. We skied at Birch Hill (15 minutes from campus) and it was suprisingly good. The groomers had rolled about 10 km of trails.
There were some leaves and grass coming through, but it was not too bad, all things considered. The hardest part was keeping the heart-rate down. We are hopeful that we get a few more inches by Sunday – we have a three hour OD planned which would be much more fun to do on snow than on foot. -SJ
We received a bit of snow in Fairbanks, but not enough to ski. Some of the guys skied on Sunday morning before the sun melted most of it. It snowed yesterday afternoon (more…)
