Svendsen Wins First Fort Kent Race
Thursday, February 10th, 2011Norwegian Emil Hegle Svendsen won Thursday’s men’s 10 k World Cup sprint in Fort Kent, taking a seven-second victory over Czech biathlete Michal Slesingr and nine seconds from his Norwegian teammate Tarjei Boe.
After a tough weekend in Presque Isle, Canadian Scott Perras led the North Americans in 30th with one penalty, with Lowell Bailey (USA) one spot behind, with two misses.
Tim Burke (USA), in his return to the circuit after missing last week’s races due to illness, was 47th with three misses.
